About College Possible

College Possible is a growing nonprofit coaching students from low-income backgrounds to and through college to break the cycle of poverty and empower the next generation of leaders. Our model has earned national recognition: the inaugural Evergreen National Education Award recognized our leadership in increasing access to and success in college for students from low-income backgrounds. It also earns top-of-field results: a Harvard study found that the program more than doubles a student's chance of enrolling in a four-year college, and our students are four times more likely to become college graduates than their low-income peers. College Possible has a budget of $25 million, more than 140 full-time employees and more than 270 AmeriCorps and VISTA service members. During the 2020-21 school year, we will reach an estimated 20,000 students in 49 states, at more than 90 partner high schools and at nearly 600 colleges.

College Possible is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and seeks to build a diverse workforce to create impact in partnership with the communities we serve. We welcome a diverse pool of qualified applicants. For each of its positions, College Possible is mindful about what best serves our students, and seeks to hire staff with relevant experience, skills and aptitude, and a commitment to the power of education. Catalyze is College Possible's unique near-peer coaching solution, designed to help our higher ed institutional partners ensure success for students from low-income backgrounds. Our success coaches serve as AmeriCorps members, and are recent college graduates themselves, many from similar backgrounds as the students they support. Coaches provide targeted, proactive support to foster college success by addressing students' common academic, financial and personal barriers. Each coach is physically located at the university, maintains a full-time presence on campus, and engages in the university environment alongside their students, either in person or virtually. College Possible's growth strategy is to increase the number of Catalyze partner institutions by 50% over the next 18 months.

Headquartered in Saint Paul, MN, College Possible also operates in Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Omaha, NE; Portland, OR; and Seattle, WA; and has Catalyze partnerships in MN, IA, MD, TN, NY, CA, and OH.

Your Role as Catalyze Program Advisor

Reporting to the Vice President, Partnerships, the Program Advisor will be an integral part of our Catalyze team focused on account management and delivering best-in-class customer service to a portfolio of partner colleges and universities across the country delivering the College Possible Catalyze program on their campuses. The Catalyze Program Advisor will be the ongoing primary direct support to the program lead at each of the institutions in their portfolio and will work collaboratively with other Catalyze staff to effectively support them.

Onboard New Catalyze Partners: Coordinate, prepare for, and deliver training for program leads to orient them to the responsibilities and tools needed to perform their roles effectively. Participate in onboarding visits to new partner institutions to prepare them to begin delivery of the Catalyze program on their campuses.

Onboard and Train Coaches: In partnership with fellow team members, coordinate, prepare for, and deliver instructor-led training (both remotely and in-person) for coaches as part of their orientation to their roles and on an ongoing basis throughout each program year. Partner with institutions on coach recruitment annually, inclusive of initial screening of coach candidates. Contribute to the development of self-paced online learning courses for coaches as well as guidelines and resources for institution-led trainings delivered by campus staff.

Ensure Program Quality and Fidelity: Provide guidance and support necessary for program leads to implement the Catalyze program on their campuses. Work in collaboration across the team on ensuring campus partner success, including planning communication, joint meetings, and trouble-shooting partner-specific issues. Facilitate recurring one-on-one check-in conversations with program leads, via technology and in-person, and ensure that they have the resources and structure they need to be successful. Use Salesforce reports and dashboards to orient work with campus partners, including weekly progress monitoring of progress towards annual goals and coach performance. Address upcoming priorities, help troubleshoot challenges, and glean best practices for broader application. Ensure that all AmeriCorps guidelines are appropriately administered. Work with the College Possible program team and campus program leads to develop and implement performance improvement strategies where necessary. On a periodic basis, document and share program insights with partner institutions in the portfolio.

Lead and Contribute to Program Design Projects: Provide project leadership and support for program design initiatives that further Catalyze's goal of improving student retention rates at our partner institutions.
