College Possible has a budget of nearly $20 million, more than 110 full-time employees and more than 270 AmeriCorps and VISTA service members. Basic Description

The Program Coordinator manages special projects in support of our programming with high school aged students and within our partner high schools. Additionally, they support training and development for our team of Service Corps Members. This Program Coordinator may be called upon to temporarily or permanently supervise and support Service Corps Members.

Essential Job Functions

Supervise, Train and Support Service Corps Members: Duties include providing daily support, guidance, and oversight to Service Corps Members to ensure excellence in service and programming. Troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensure Service Corps Members have needed preparation and support to execute their responsibilities, and work in partnership with other staff to ensure the highest quality of service to students, school sites, and partners.  Coordinate, prepare for, and lead high-quality trainings and meetings for Service Corps Members.

Manage Critical Projects and Support Curriculum Implementation: Manage a variety of projects, such as Financial Aid, Scholarships, High Achiever Programming, etc. Collaborate closely with peers to align projects, resources, and training to other high school program efforts. Create, train on, and distribute resources to aid the implementation of projects and programming at the practitioner level: among Service Corps and program participants. Support the implementation of curriculum by high school coaches to ensure fidelity to our program model. Evaluate lesson plan delivery and support Service Corps members in growing as lesson planners and instructors.  Ensure that Service Corps members implement activities outside of regular classroom sessions, such as individual student meetings, college visits, ACT exams, summer enrichment opportunities, and program-wide events.  Help to coordinate those events as assigned. 

Evaluate, Track and Report on Progress: Assist program leadership in tracking, evaluating and reporting student progress in key program areas, including ACT scores, summer enrichment applications, campus visits, college applications, admittance to college, and financial aid. Communicate with Service Corps and Service Corps Supervisors to ensure compliance, data integrity, and promote active data management as part of an evidence-based program.

Recruit Program Participants and Staff: Work with Program Team to recruit and select students and Service Corps Members for the coming program year.  The Program Coordinator will participate in the student selection process, and will help coordinate student and Service Corps Member communication once the selections have been made.

  • Bachelor's degree and at least one year of full-time work experience required.

Related Work Experience:

  • Teaching, project management, student support services, and/or college admissions experience desired;
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred, but not required;
  • Experience with AmeriCorps, VISTA, or other service programs preferred;
  • Familiarity with college admissions process, including standardized tests, application process and financial aid strongly preferred.

Computer/Software Skills:

  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Eagerness to help low-income young people achieve success;

  • Flexibility to work in multiple locations.  Time is split between the College Possible office and affiliated schools;
