College Possible is a growing nonprofit that empowers the next generation of leaders. As a double bottom line organization, we work with students from underserved backgrounds by matching them with coaches that help them matriculate, persist, and graduate from college and ultimately break the cycle of poverty.

With more than 140 full-time staff and over 270 AmeriCorps and VISTA service members, College Possible is poised to impact 25,000 students in 50 states, at 100+ partner high schools and 400+ colleges. Our goal is to serve more than 100,000 students annually and make a significant contribution to closing the degree divide.

Your Role as Vice President of Site Operations

The Vice President of Site Operations will empower, manage, lead, and support the College Possible Executive Directors in all sites including Minnesota, Milwaukee, Omaha, Oregon, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Washington. Working in a matrix organization, the Vice President of Site Operations will also serve as a trusted advisor to the President and a member of the National Senior Leadership Team.

 

  • You are an effective senior leader. You are the bridge between the National Office and our unique sites, working with your direct reports, the Executive Directors (EDs), to achieve optimal performance while building a strong culture for success. Alongside C-level leaders, you develop the strategy for the flagship organization while ensuring our regional sites recruit, retain, develop, and mobilize a diverse, engaged, and high-performing staff. You create succession plans and professional development opportunities for high-performing staff members.
  • You streamline without losing sight of what is important. You work in tandem with the President to constantly find ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency across the team. As an innovator, you know what to look for when monitoring progress'assessing our staff, exploring our organizational structure, and looking for potential gaps and opportunities. You instill excellence across the board and create a strong feedback culture.

 

  • You have worn many hats. You have had a diverse set of leadership experiences, which equip you with a thorough consulting approach to problem solving. You navigate gray areas and are not afraid to address difficult internal challenges. You work closely with the National Director of Programs'staying informed of best practices in college access and success while diffusing that information across teams.

 

  • You build strong relationships across the board. In partnership with site EDs and the Chief Advancement Officer, your goal is to elevate College Possible's champions by recruiting high caliber site board members, activate existing boards to advocate for our mission and fundraise effectively, and create enriching and meaningful experiences for our high-profile stakeholders. You train and mobilize our team to support these efforts so that the magic of College Possible is felt and experienced by all.

 

What You Bring

As a Vice President of Site Operations, you must have a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and bring a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience including a senior leadership role within an organization. You coach and develop people effectively, lead through inspiration and partnership, and act boldly by making difficult and/or unpopular decisions when necessary. You develop strong philanthropic relationships by garnering the respect of highly experienced Board members, school leaders, private sector funders, and community members.
